Czech Republic: Prague
Ruzyne Airport (PRG)
BEST WAY DOWNTOWN: Bus

BASICS
Ruzyne is located 12 miles (19 km) west of the center of Prague. There is no airport Web site, but a Prague Web site offers transportation recommendations and phone numbers.

TAXI
Taxis are available outside the arrivals area. Fare should be about 450-550 koruna ($14-$17), and the trip will take from 20 to 30 minutes to the center. Make sure the meter is set to number 1. If it is set to number 2 (used only for the night hours) you will be paying double the correct fare. If the meter is not on, make sure you agree on the fare before leaving the airport. All taxis, by law, have to have a working meter.

BUS
CSA (The Czech National Airline) runs a shuttle bus from the airport to the center of Prague, with stops at the major hotels. It leaves three times an hour from in front of the terminal from 7:30 A.M. to 9:30 P.M. The fare is about 90 koruna ($3).

SHUTTLE
Cedaz runs a bus service. The vans are white (and shiny) and leave once an hour from 5 A.M. to 10 P.M. Fares and destinations vary. To be let off at Dejvicka the fare is 60 koruna ($2); to the end subway station, on the green line, fare is 90 koruna ($3). You can also arrange for the shuttle bus to drop you off at your hotel. Depending on the number in your party, the fare will range between 360 and 720 koruna ($11-$22).

RENTAL CAR
If you are only going to Prague it is not advisable to rent a car because the center is closed to cars, and parking is most difficult in the rest of Prague.
